RANMA 1/2: LEGEND OF WEN-RU

CHAPTER ONE

"Come on Akane!" shouted Ranma as he ran passed her, "You don't want to be
late right?"
"Ranma!" shouted Akane in annoyance as she chased her fiancé. She then smiled.
Ranma had just regained his strength a week ago and was trying to show off.
Genma-san's stay at Doctor Tofu's clinic was proof of it. Of course, she was
not going to lose to him.
She started running and picked up speed and tried to catch up with Ranma. She
was not able to stop when she saw the stranger appear around the curb. She was
already about to say sorry for knocking the person down but instead, she felt
like she struck a wall and she fell down.
"Ouch!" she shouted as she tried to get up. A hand appeared in front of her.
She looked up and saw the stranger. She grabbed hold of his hand and he pulled
her up.
'Who is he?' she wondered, 'Any regular person would have been knocked down
by me.'
"Are you okay?" asked the stranger. Akane nodded. "Good." Said the stranger
with a smile. Akane could tell the stranger was young, about her age. His hair
was black and he looked Asian. However, his Japanese had a very strong accent
which Akane thought sounded like Shampoo's.
"You new here?" asked Akane. The stranger nodded.
"Er... do you know where the Tendou Dojo is?"
"Yes." Replied Akane. "I live there."
"Oh, so you're Souun Tendou's daughter." Said the stranger. Akane nodded.
"The youngest?" Akane nodded but she felt very uncomfortable.
"Why are you asking all these?" asked Akane.
"Oh, just curious Akane." Replied the stranger.
  "You know my name?"
"Sure." Said the stranger when suddenly Ranma appeared.
"Akane! Come on! We're going to be late!" he shouted.
Akane looked at her watch and shouted, "Oh no!" she then looked at the young
stranger and said, "Just walk straight and turn a left and you'll be at the
Dojo." And then ran off with Ranma.
"Arigato!" shouted the young stranger as he walked off.
"Who is he?" asked Ranma curiously.
  "I ... don't know." Replied Akane.

RANMA 1/2: LEGEND OF WEN-RU

CHAPTER TWO

  'Knock, knock.'
"Coming." Said Kasumi Tendou as she walked to the door and slid it open. In
front of her was a young boy about Akane's age.
"Can I help you?" asked Kasumi.
"Uh... I would like to use your Dojo please." Said the boy, stammering as he
did so.
"Oh." Said Kasumi, "I'll have to ask my father first. Please come in."
"Arigato." Said the teen as he entered the house.
"Otto-san," said Kasumi, "this person wants to use the Dojo."
Souun got up and left Genma with the chessboard. Genma promptly turned the
chessboard around, to his favour.
"How may I help you?" asked Souun.
"I wish to use your Dojo for training. I'll pay of course." Said the youngster.
Souun looked at him. He reminded him of Ryouga, only without the two sharp
teeth and stupid outfit. "Fine. Ten thousand yen a day."
The youngster promptly took out ten thousand yen in notes and gave it to Souun.
Souun walked towards the dinning room and started crying, "Why didn't I get him
to be my daughter's fiancé? He's much richer than Ranma!" tears flowed down
his face like a waterfall.
Meanwhile, in class, Ranma felt a sudden chill.
Back at the Dojo, the youngster walked into the training hall. "I wish to be
left alone." Said the youngster.
Kasumi smiled and said, "Of course."
The youngster blushed. In all his sixteen years of existence, he has only
seen one other girl as pretty as Kasumi. He was quite a taken back by her beauty.
"What is your name?" asked Kasumi sweetly.
"Ran Wen-ru." Replied the youngster before he slid the door close.
At about six o'clock, Wen-ru walked out of the Dojo, sweating heavily. He
greeted Kasumi, Souun and Genma goodbye before leaving.
Kasumi went to the training hall to clean it up. However, when she entered
the hall, it was not damaged at all. Instead, all she saw was a patch of sweat
on the floor. Fifteen minutes later, Akane and Ranma returned home.

RANMA 1/2: LEGEND OF WEN-RU

CHAPTER THREE

Ranma did multiple punches in thin air and finally stopped when Akane appeared.
She was wearing her Dojo outfit.
  "Hi Akane." Said Ranma.
Akane just ignored him and stacked four pieces of concrete together.
'Did I make her angry again?' wondered Ranma as he looked at her.
"Hee-yah!" shouted Akane as she chopped the four pieces of concrete into halves.
She then turned to face Ranma and smiled.
Ranma blushed and turned away. He then ran to the dinning room.
"It's a beautiful Saturday morning isn't it oneechan?" asked Akane as she
looked up at the sky.
"Yes it is." Replied Kasumi as she prepared food. "I wonder whether he will
come today."
Akane looked at her sister. Her otto-san had told her of the stranger who would
arrive after she and Ranma left and leave just before they returned. Her oneechan
told her of the youngster's training, in which he just sat in the middle of the
hall and a blue aura would surround him. She was hoping to see this stranger.
  'Knock, knock!'
"That must be him now." Said Kasumi. "Akane, please open the door."
"Hai oneechan." Replied Akane as she ran to open the door. As she slid open
the door, she was surprise to see the youngster she met a week ago.
  "Ohayo." Said the youngster.
"Ohayo." Said Akane and nodded at him. It was then that she noticed that he
was holding a black piglet in his hands.
"P-chan!" she shouted and the piglet jumped towards her with tears in its eyes.
"Is he yours?" asked the youngster.
"Yes, he's been lost for a few days." Replied Akane and smiled. She then frowned
when she saw the youngster take out a wade of yen.
"This is the rental fees." Said the youngster as he handed the money over to
Akane.
  "For what?" asked Akane, curiously.
"Your father said that this was the amount I was to pay to use the training
hall."
A minute later, Souun was asking the youngster's forgiveness. Tears flowed
down his eyes as Akane stood next to him with a flaming aura around her. Ranma
and Genma ignored the happening entirely and Kasumi and Nabiki were in the kitchen.
"I'll never do it again!" pleaded Souun.
"It's okay Souun-san," Said Wen-ru, "my father told me to pay you."
"Your father?" asked Souun, his tears now gone.
  "Ran Shinn-koh." Said Wen-ru.
Souun's mouth struck the floor. "You're Shinn-koh's son?"
  "Hai."
Souun's face showed a sense of dread.
"What is wrong otto-san?" asked Akane.
"Oh please forgive me!" shouted Souun as he bowed to Wen-ru. Both Wen-ru and
Akane jumped back in shock.
Souun then got up and seriously said, "Akane, meet you fiancé."
Both Ranma and Akane smashed Souun's face with their elbows. Suddenly, they
noticed what they did and stare at each other. Almost immediately, they turned
away blushing. Souun laid below them with his face rearranged.
Wen-ru stood there with a smirk on his face.
"What's so funny?!" asked Ranma, obviously fuming.
"There's another reason I came here."
"Oh?" said Akane, Ranma and Souun in unison.
"I came to tell you all that I'm breaking off the engagement."
  "Why?" asked Akane.
"He obviously has good taste." Muttered Ranma. Akane promptly punched Ranma
out of the house in to the air.
Wen-ru looked at Ranma flying off. "You remind me of my fiancée."
  "Your fiancée?" asked Souun.
"Yeah," said Wen-ru with a face of distaste, "a kawaikunee girl from the 'Chen'
clan named 'Shing'."
  "Sounds like Akane." Said Nabiki.
"Oneechan!" shouted Akane and then blushed.
Suddenly, Wen-ru's eyes shifted as if he could see through the wall. "He's
here." Muttered Wen-ru.
  "Who?" asked Akane.
Wen-ru did not answer her and jumped out of the dinning room and onto the wall.
It was then that a shadow appeared in the air and landed in front of him.
It was another youngster about Wen-ru's age. He had a headband and wore a
dark blue T-shirt and a pair of baggy pants. Compared to Wen-ru's black singlet
and Dojo pants, he looked better.
"Ni zong-yu lai le." (You've finally arrived.) Said Wen-ru.
"Shi. Wo men lai jue dou ba!" (Yes. Let's fight to the finish.) Said the stranger.
Both youngsters got off the wall and walked to the training hall. The whole
Tendou family, as well as Genma, followed them in.
As both youngsters looked at each other, they went into their respective fighting
stances. They eyed each other for two seconds before their attacks began.
A furry of punches came from Wen-ru and the other youngster dodged all of them.
He then swung his leg at Wen-ru who jumped over it and somersaulted backwards.
He then lunged towards the stranger with multiple kicks. The stranger back-flipped
and his legs struck Wen-ru's chin.
"Ow!" shouted Wen-ru in pain. He then landed on his feet and gave a punch.
The stranger was thrown backwards and struck the wall.
"How did he do that? He didn't even hit the guy." Asked Akane.
"I am at a loss as well." Said Souun, "How about you Genma?"
Genma immediately raised a sign with the words, 'I don't know either.' on it.
Meanwhile, Ranma crawled into the hall with burn marks caused by reentry into
the Earth's atmosphere. He looked up at the duel and stared in awe at the speed
and skill displayed in front of him.
Meanwhile, both youngsters jumped out of the hall and into the garden and at
the same time exchanging punches. The whole Tendou family chased after them and
trampled over Ranma.
As Ranma slowly got up, his father, in panda form, rushed passed him and knocked
him into the wall. "Ow... what's going on?" muttered Ranma as he slowly got up
and looked outside.
Wen-ru had gotten the upper hand and was about to land the finishing punch
when the mysterious youngster threw an object at him. Wen-ru dodged it just in
time and the object struck against the wooden wall of the Dojo. At first, Ranma
thought the object was a blade of some sort until he saw it. It was a piece of
cloth and it was flapping as the wind blew against it.
Meanwhile, the stranger had regained his composure and was attacking Wen-ru
at great speed. A stream of kicks and punches flew at Wen-ru, who managed to
dodge half the number. Wen-ru staggered back against the wall visibly hurt. The
youngster started to press his advantage and charged towards Wen-ru.
Wen-ru smiled and raised his right arm. He stuck out his second finger like
it was a gun and shouted, "Chi-gong Pao!" ('Chi' cannon!) A blue aura surrounded
his finger and a blue fireball blasted out sending Wen-ru flying through the
wooden wall into the hall. Meanwhile, the fireball struck the youngster and sent
him flying into the concrete wall.
Akane went to check on him and found that he was unconscious. 'What was that?'
thought Akane as she noticed Wen-ru get up.
He walked towards the stranger and then in Japanese, spoke. "Get up. It can't
end like this. You were late by two days." Akane looked at him with a surprise
look.
Suddenly, a hand rested on her left shoulder and she looked wide-eyed at the
youngster who had gotten up. 'After being injured like that he can still get
up?' she thought.
"Sorry," said the youngster with a thick Chinese accent, "I was delayed."
"By who?" asked Wen-ru as he smiled.
  "Meng Lie." Wen-ru's smile faded.
"Oh..." said Wen-ru almost inaudibly. He then looked at Akane who was giving
him a confused look. "Let me introduce you to Bu-lang. He's from China."
"Konnichi-wa." Said Bu-lang as he smiled at her. She smiled back weakly. He
then noticed Ranma. "Hmm... man jiang ma." (Hmm... quite strong.)
"Shi." (Yes.) Wen-ru replied as he looked at Ranma. Ranma was staring at him
and he knew why.
  "Who are you?" asked Ranma.
  "I'm a teenager like yourself." Replied Wen-ru.
"That was 'Chi' you used. No one can do that."
Wen-ru and Bu-lang looked at each other and laughed. "Well, I did it, didn't
I?"
"This is not a comic book," stated Ranma angrily, "It's impossible to do that."
Wen-ru gave Ranma a serious look and said, "Wanna try?"
"You're on." Said Ranma as he took up a fighting position.
Wen-ru stood at ease and energy started to crackle around his fist.
Ranma ran towards Wen-ru and was about to land a punch on him when Wen-ru opened
his mouth as if to shout something. Nothing came out except a blue aura. The
force struck Ranma and send him flying through the Dojo into the training yard.
"Ranma!" shouted Akane and ran towards the yard.
"Did I use to much strength?" asked Wen-ru as he looked at Bu-lang.
Bu-lang shook his head. "He's too weak."
As Akane reached Ranma, she saw him lying in smashed up concrete pieces. Looking
more closely, she noticed he was crying. "He's too powerful." Said Ranma and
hugged Akane and cried on her shoulder.
Akane returned the hug and they stayed in that position for many hours.

RANMA 1/2: THE LEGEND OF WEN-RU

CHAPTER FOUR

Ranma sat silently next to Akane at the dinning table. Wen-ru sat opposite
him with Bu-lang next to him.
"Kasumi-san," said Wen-ru, "this food is delicious. You cook very well."
Kasumi smiled and said, "Arigato. Eat as much as you like then."
  "Hai!" shouted Wen-ru smilingly.
"Where is your father?" asked Souun.
"Otto-san is still in China handling the family business." Replied Wen-ru as
he gulped down a slice of raw fish.
Akane then asked, "Then you are alone in Osaka?"
"No," said Wen-ru, "my cousin and younger sister are there."
Ranma looked at Wen-ru and said, "How did you become so strong?"
Wen-ru shrugged and said, "I've been training under various sects since I was
five so..."
Bu-lang chipped in, "He's so strong, that even in China he's well known."
"Wow, you're so strong." Said Kasumi.
Wen-ru blushed and said, "That's nothing, there're people stronger than me,
you know."
  "Oh?" said Ranma.
Wen-ru cut short the conversation and continued eating. Bu-lang just sat there
silently.
  "Where're you staying?" asked Akane.
"At the local hotel." Replied Wen-ru.
"Otto-san, let Wen-ru stay here then." Said Akane. Both Souun and Ranma looked
at Akane in shock.
  "Why?" asked Souun.
"He is the son of your friend, isn't he? So why not?"
Wen-ru said, "I won't be here long. Only two more days. It's not necessary."
"I insist." Said Akane. "Hope you don't mind sleeping in the dinning room.
  "... sure." Replied Wen-ru, half-smiling.
Ranma just got up and walked to his room. 'Does Akane like him?' he thought.
Meanwhile, in the shadows, a figure looked at the small group gathered in the
dinning room. He would be the bane of Wen-ru's existence. He is......
